Where are you located?

We are located in the Hill Country of Fredericksburg, Texas. We are a short 5 to 7 minute drive to Main Street, the center of Fredericksburg, where you will find restaurants, shopping, the renowned Pacific War museum and numerous wine tasting rooms. Sitting in the heart of Texas wine country, we are also within 15 to 20 minutes driving distance of many of the 60+ wineries and vineyards, which are mostly outside of town in the surrounding countryside. For those who prefer beer or spirits, there are also several breweries and distilleries.

How many people are allowed in each cabin?

Our wine barrel cabins are a two guest occupancy only. However, if you have more than two in your group, we have 4 wine barrel cabins and groups often book multiple cabins together. We also have Hickory Haus, which is a 3BR, 2BA house on the property as well that sleeps up to 10 people.

Are you kid friendly?

We do not allow kids in the wine barrel cabins. They are not set up to accommodate children, and we are trying to preserve a romantic setting for couples who are on a romantic getaway. Families looking to book are encouraged to explore our 3BR, 2 BA house on the property, which has a nice patio with barbecue and seating area (and coming soon will be a dipping pool)!

Do you allow pets?

We love our furry friends, too! However, we maintain a no pet policy to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests. Some guests may have sensitivities and allergies, and others prefer a pet free environment for relaxation. This policy helps us maintain cleanliness and hold our high standards of hospitality. We do make exceptions for certified service animals (sorry, emotional support animals do not count).

What is the cost and how do I book?

Our prices vary and are dependent on a variety of factors, such as holidays, weekdays versus weekends, and special events in the town of Fredericksburg (i.e. Oktoberfest, festivals, etc). To see pricing, click on the dates and search feature of our home page or on the ‘Book Now’ on any of the specific wine barrel pages. Then, type in the dates you are looking at and it will generate a price. If your search returns as unavailable, that means we are either booked for your dates or that you are searching for a one night stay during a 2 night stay requirement (weekends and holidays). What is your cancellation policy?

We currently offer full refunds for any reservation that is canceled within 24 hours of booking. Stays canceled 30 days prior to your arrival will receive a 100% refund (excluding payment processing fees). Stays canceled 14 days prior to your arrival date will receive a 50% refund (excluding payment processing fees). Inside of the 14 days prior to your arrival date, there is no refund.

Is smoking allowed?

No smoking or vaping is allowed in the house or cabins. There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, we are experiencing a sustained drought, which has significantly increased the risk of fires in our area. Secondly, the cabins are made of cedar wood, which is why no smoking is allowed in these structures or anywhere near them. Ensuring the safety of all our guests and preserving the natural beauty of this place is one of our top priorities. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and helping us prevent any potential fire hazards. As for vaping, it leaves behind a smell that many do not like and so we have included that in our no smoking policy.

Do you have a pool or spa on property?

At this time, we do not have a pool or spa on the property. However, we are adding a fun cowboy dipping pool to the 3BR, 2BA house property in early 2025.

What amenities are included? Do you have TV?

We have a TV in the 3BR, BA house, but not in the wine barrel cabins. We have done this intentionally as we wanted people to focus on connection. We also could not find TVs that would suit the curved walls of the wine barrels! However, we do have Wi-Fi, and you are welcome to stream on any of your devices. We provide toiletries, linens, coffee, AC/heat, and more. A full list of amenities can be found below each wine barrel cabin’s description and details.

What is the damage deposit and why is there a hold placed at check-in?

The $250 damages hold is placed on your card at check-in just like when you check into a hotel. This damages hold is placed to cover any incidental damage and falls off your card a few days after checkout if there is no damage.

When will I receive check-in instructions?

A welcome message with your instructions goes out 24 to 48 hours prior to your check-in. If you would like that information before then, please feel free to reach out to us via email or through the messaging system. If it is past 8 AM on the day of your arrival and you have not received a welcome email, please email us at reservations@winebarrelcabins.com or contact us via phone at (830) 326-9201.

Can you recommend a restaurant or a winery?

We do have recommendations for restaurants and wineries that we like, as well as for things to do in Fredericksburg. These can be found in our welcome book upon arrival. We also provide a link to our digital welcome book upon booking.

What are your house rules?

No smoking or vaping whatsoever, no parties or events. Please respect the privacy and tranquility of any other guests on the property. Specifically, that means no loud music or parties of any kind. Please keep to the quiet hours of 10 PM to 8 AM. Please try to keep the sliding glass door closed after dark as insects will swarm in if it’s left open. Also, please avoid running the AC/heat when the door is open. Please stay on the path at all times. This is the Hill Country and the terrain is uneven off the paths. We are not responsible for any injuries. No hunting is allowed.

What is the nearest airport to Fredericksburg Texas?

We recommend flying into San Antonio International Airport (SAT), which is about 1 hour and 15-20 minutes to Fredericksburg. Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is your second option and is about 1 hour and 45 minutes to Fredericksburg.

Can you help arrange something for a birthday or anniversary celebration?

Yes, we have relationships with different services that can help you arrange a variety of things for your stay, ranging from flowers to balloons to wine tours and more. Be sure to let us know what your occasion is and what you are interested in and we can help you with that.

Are you connected to a specific winery?

While we are wine aficionados, we are not connected to any specific winery. We do have recommendations for the ones that we like, which can be found in our welcome book. We provide a link to our digital welcome book upon booking.

How accessible are your wine barrel cabins?

Our wine barrel cabins all have steps up to the front entrance. Chardonnay wine barrel cabin is the closest to the parking lot. The cabins have between 6-8 total steps up to the front entrance.
